Sunderland‘s Simon Adingra spent the second half of last season on loan at Monaco. The attacker could now be handed an opportunity to play in Italy.
For the Black Cats, the Ivorian played only 658 Premier League minutes in the 2025/26 campaign. Things improved to an extent in France, as he contributed to five goals in 14 Ligue 1 appearances, featuring twice in the Champions League.
He also played at the World Cup, reaching the Round of 32 for Cote D’Ivoire.
An ordinary spell at Sunderland hasn’t damaged Adingra’s reputation. AS Roma are keeping an eye on his situation.
Deal seen as feasible
ForzaRoma look at the Giallorossi’s struggles signing an attacker. They missed out on Mason Greenwood first and Crysencio Summerville ended up at Al-Hilal when Roma thought they had sealed a move. A transfer for Antonio Nusa is also looking difficult.
That is why the Sunderland attacker is emerging as an option.
Sporting director Tony D’Amico is a fan and Roma won’t have problems covering his wages. Adingra earns around €1m per season, which is feasible for the Italian side.

They believe Sunderland value the 24-year-old at €35m. In recent weeks, Gasperini’s side have offered more than that for Summerville.
Our take: Great move for the player
Gasperini is an expert at bringing the most out of pacy, attacking players. That is why he was keen on Summerville and is also interested in Nusa. A move to Roma, as a result, could be great for Adingra.
He needs a club where he plays regularly and a manager prioritises his development. Gasperini and Roma is a good fit, and he’d also get Champions League football.
