In their Friday edition, Sport have a look at Gareth Bale’s situation and where he could move in the summer.

Being a newspaper of the Catalan variety, Sport will quite like that things aren’t working at Real Madrid, so they give it a big feature.

Manchester United are one of the possible destinations named, because Real Madrid have had enough. They’re tired of his injuries, his supposed inability to adapt to life in Spain, not socialising with his teammates, and being obsessed with golf.

The golf has been seen as a precursor to all the other problems, with it even being blamed for Bale’s muscle problems.

On a Manchester United move, it’s stated Jose Mourinho is still interested but won’t simply pay ‘any price’ for the player, which will come as a relief to Ed Woodward.

Mourinho will stand firm, and won’t push Manchester United to pay the €120m that Real Madrid want, but it’s unlikely they’ll get that from anywhere.

This may be an unlikely summer transfer, especially after the signing of Alexis Sanchez, but it’s not unthinkable.

With the Turin press increasingly excited over Anthony Martial potentially moving to Juventus, and the French media closest to the player making it clear his future is in doubt, there may be room made.
