The rumours linking Benfica players to Manchester United may have been dragged for too long know, but it’s impossible not to think José Mourinho is up to something with so many scouting trips this season. Home or away, Manchester United have someone watching Benfica.

Club emissaries were sent to the Estádio da Luz again on Wednesday, as Benfica faced Estoril in the second leg of the Portuguese Cup semifinal.

With not a very good performance, the Eagles got a 3-3 draw, and due to the 2-1 away win in the first leg, they now have a place in the final.

CapturarRecord recalls that Manchester United have been linked to Nelson Semedo and Victor Lindelof in the past few months, although the right-back was rested and stayed on the bench.

It would be Swedish defender Lindelof getting the attention on Wednesday.

Lindelof was criticised by the local press for being too slow and allowing Estoril to get many chances, contributing to the away team’s considerable achievement of scoring three goals at the Estádio da Luz.

Last week Jose Mourinho publicly confirmed that he knows about Lindelof and has been impressed by the Benfica defender.

Bruno Gomes, a Brazilian youngster who once had trials at Manchester United, played for Estoril and was the Man of the Match. He scored two goals and made an assist.
