Earlier in June, Anthony Martial’s agent Philippe Lamboley revealed his client wanted to leave Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

The forward has one year left on his contract at Old Trafford and the Red Devils decided against allowing him to leave, despite clubs like Bayern Munich, Juventus, AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur being reportedly interested in acquiring his services.

Calicomercato claims the Old Lady ‘dream’ of bringing the 22-year-old to the club on a free transfer in 2019, but the Italian website doesn’t take into consideration that the Premier League club have an option to further extend his contract by a year.

According to the report, it is unlikely the 20-time English champions would be taking up that option because the former AS Monaco man is expected to commit his long-term future to his current employer.

It’s claimed that last week Manchester United had a meeting with the player’s representative where Martial was offered an annual salary of €9-€10m, plus bonuses as his employer wants to tie him down to a new deal. Jose Mourinho is also ‘convinced’ the renewal of attacker will be made official in a ‘short time’.
