Ché Adams spent five years at Southampton before leaving them as a free agent at the end of last season.
The Scotland international joined Torino in the summer window and signed a contract until 2027. The Serie A side sporting director, Davide Vagnati, had stated they initially tried to him in the winter 2024 market, but Southampton asked for a lot of money.
Adams had an impressive start to his career at the Turin club, surprising even those who signed him.
Today’s edition of Corriere Torino covers the former Southampton striker and the specific role he has under Paolo Vanoli.
On Friday, the 28-year-old came off the bench to score the winner against Empoli and with that took his tally to five goals and two assists from 17 games this season.
Torino have scored 17 goals in the league and five of them were netted by a substitute this season. The ex-Southampton man scored three of those five goals, and the report states there’s no one like him at the Turin club.
Corriere Torino say this shows Vanoli’s substitutions are able to make an impact and more when it’s Adams.
The player is becoming ‘more and more a specialist’ at Torino, a new role he has found since leaving the Saints.
