On Monday the Spanish media tried to produce updates on Alvaro Morata to Manchester United, without anything really happening.
Morata has been a step away from moving to Manchester United for an age, with that step being the transfer fee and disagreement over it.
Tuesday sees AS’s Tomas Roncero say Morata has taken a break from his honeymoon for a few hours to try and push things along. His new wife is in Ibiza, and Morata has popped home to attempt to push things forward.
Still, it’s the fee proving to be the problem. AS say Manchester United have offered €74m, but Madrid want €85-90m.
Morata doesn’t want the transfer to turn into a ‘soap opera’, and Roncero says the coming hours will be ‘decisive’. If all goes well, the Spanish international wants to be available for when Manchester United pre-season from July 8th.
But, Morata can do what he likes, it’s Manchester United and Ed Woodward who need to sort the fee out.
