West Ham United’s Edson Álvarez has made nine appearances in all competitions and it includes four league starts.
The Mexico international has managed to retain his place after Julen Lopetegui arrived at West Ham in the summer.
Earlier this month, the Hammers manager urged the 27-year-old to manage his emotions to further improve his game.
Record in Mexico says the midfielder has now taken extra measures to be the ‘best in the league’. The former Ajax man has decided to bring physical trainer Giber Becerra and a Mexican chef to London.
The West Ham player wanted assistance to help improve his fitness level, in order to avoid picking up injuries.
It’s claimed Becerra, who has previously worked with a few Mexican teams, is currently without a club. Therefore, the physical trainer has decided to accept Álvarez’s offer.
In addition to Becerra, the midfielder has hired a Mexican chef. This is done so that he and his family can continue enjoying Mexican food in the English capital.
Record say ‘money well spent’ by Álvarez, and whether that’ll improve his performance on the pitch needs to be seen.
