The German media can’t completely decide how concrete Borussia Dortmund’s August 10th Jadon Sancho deadline is. That’s the date the Bundesliga club are set to travel to their training camp at the wonderfully named Bad Ragaz in Switzerland.

Dortmund had been sending out a message to their local media that if Sancho goes on the trip, then he won’t be signing for Manchester United or anyone else this summer, and will remain with BVB for the upcoming season.

With the Bundesliga club wanting €120m for their player, and United so far not hitting that level, the transfer is at a standstill. Indeed, Dortmund’s Hans-Joachim Watzke and Michael Zorc this week insisted there’s not been any contact with Manchester United over Sancho, whether that be directly or through intermediaries.

The next 48 hours are crucial, as the 10th approaches, and after that it should become clearer how strong, or otherwise, the deadline was. Bild are still running with the idea of it being real, and they say if the €120m isn’t agreed by the date, Sancho will ‘definitely stay’ and won’t be going to Manchester United.

Dortmund would then give him ‘MORE MONEY!’, as Bild present it, increase his wages from €6m a year to €10m. The plan is that would keep him motivated and then there’d be further transfer interest next summer, with a big fee still expected despite the player only having a year left on his contract then.
