Colombian media have reacted positively to Jhon Arias after he finally made an impact for Wolverhampton in the Carabao Cup.

Caracol highlighted the winger’s role in the opening goal against Everton, noting that, despite his difficult start to life in England, he showed a flash of the quality that made him stand out at Fluminense.

The outlet pointed out that Arias had managed only 269 minutes across six matches so far this season and had not been able to display his talent. On Tuesday night, however, he was given a rare start and took the chance.

Midway through the first half, he struck a left-footed volley that forced a save from goalkeeper Mark Travers, leading to Marshall Munetsi scoring the rebound for 1-0.

Caracol described the play as a moment of vindication for Arias, stressing that it was the kind of contribution he had been unable to show until now in Europe.

His action was seen as a reminder of the technical ability that had made him one of Fluminense’s most decisive players before the transfer.

For the Colombian press, the performance stands as proof that Arias can still adapt and succeed at Wolves. The hope is that the Carabao Cup display helps him gain confidence and minutes in England, where he is yet to establish himself.
