Yesterday, we covered claims from Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport that Manchester United have shown interest in signing Liverpool’s Mario Balotelli.
Of course, it just seemed like Manchester United’s name was thrown in for dramatics, and on Thursday, Gazzetta follow up on those claims, and have another story on it.
A few days ago, Italian website Calciomercato reported a meeting between Balotelli and Mourinho. The Italian striker apparently wanted some career advice from Mourinho, but Gazzetta believe it could have been Balotelli’s way of getting closer to United.
The newspaper believe the whole meeting may have been a ‘subliminal message’ to Manchester United.
At the time of the first claims of a meeting, we joked…
Mino: “Look Jose, I brought you Zlatan, Henrikh, even got Pog back. Now just this one little favour…”

The Italian newspaper suggest that joke could turn into reality.
Gazzetta say Mino Raiola has already helped Manchester United sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba, and now might ask Mourinho to take Balotelli on board.
They’ve also mentioned interest from Crystal Palace, Sunderland, Everton, Wolverhampton and QPR, but Gazzetta somehow seem to believe that Balotelli to Manchester United is possible.
It could be the greatest thing in football ever, or the worst. Unfortunately for those who like drama, it’s unlikely to happen.
