Millwall FC are close to completing a deal for Fortuna Sittard midfielder Zian Flemming for a figure of ‘just under €3m.’

That’s according to Voetbal International, who say the 23-year-old ‘only has to undergo a medical’ ahead of his move to the Den.

The newspaper explain that Millwall have been chasing Flemming’s signature since the January transfer window, but Fortuna Sittard ‘did not want to cooperate’ at that moment in time.

Flemming was considered too important for the team to lose midway through the campaign; something that proved to be the case as he played a crucial role in the final few weeks of the season.

He helped to keep Fortuna in the Eredivisie, and now they have changed their stance on a potential transfer, which will be ‘one of the biggest’ in their history.

Flemming’s ‘physical and technical qualities’ had caught the eye of Millwall’s technical staff and they’ve retained their interest despite their failure to get him in January.

He will now make the €3m or so move, signing a three-year deal once he’s completed a medical with the Championship side.
