Chelsea are set to keep up with their chase for Brighton & Hove Albion star Moises Caicedo, regardless of the latest setback they just had.
As first reported by the English media on Tuesday morning, the Blues had an €80m offer turned down by the Seagulls.
Fussball Transfers journalist Dominik Schneider comes up to Twitter to ‘confirm’ that Chelsea placed such bid and that was rejected.
Now, what he brings as exclusive information is that Caicedo’s entourage is actually still ‘confident’ that the transfer will go through.
It’s said the player’s staff expect the deal to be finalised ‘by the end of the week’.
There’s apparently nothing left to be sorted between Chelsea and Caicedo, since it’s claimed that the personal agreement with the player was reached ‘some time ago’.
So it seems the Blues now just need to raise their bid a little to meet Brighton’s request.
Schneider’s story doesn’t say exactly how much the Seagulls demand for the transfer, but judging by all this confidence from the midfielder’s surroundings, it seems there isn’t a big gap left.
