Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure has hinted he remains fully committed to the club, even hoping they’ll become involved in his charity project.
The midfielder has been speaking to Le Courrier de Mantes as part of a sports festival over the weekend at which he was present.
The Everton midfielder spent his Saturday afternoon at the Parc des Marroniers with the residents of the town, taking part in a photo session and signing autographs before attending a football challenge involving youngsters.
The four winners of that challenge received a football shirt signed by the Everton man as an award, as well as meeting him.
He’s been actively supporting the youngsters in his hometown for some time and was even elected to the municipal children’s council back in 2005.
That’s continued throughout his career, which has seen him go from Stade Rennais to Watford, Granada on loan and then Everton in September 2020.
He’s been a key player for the Toffees ever since and seems as committed to them as ever, even looking to get them involved with his charity work, with that an indication of his commitment to life at Goodison Park.
“In a disadvantaged neighborhood like there can be in Mureaux, we are taught above all humility, respect and determination. That’s what brought me to a high level,” he said,
“They (youngsters) have to work hard and stay passionate! Coming from a neighborhood, you are always disadvantaged. We must show that we are respectful and ambitious and that we have no limits.
“I plan to invite young people to Everton so that they can discover the environment and pass on to them my passion for football. I want to give back a little of what I was taught.”
