Fábio Vieira wasn’t able to feature regularly for Arsenal since joining them from FC Porto in June 2022.
Last summer, the Gunners let the midfielder return to the Primeira Liga club on loan, and he initially struggled with fitness before starting to cement his place. Vieira played 2,383 minutes from 38 games for the Dragons this season.
Thursday’s edition of Record claims the Arsenal owned player won’t be at Porto for long.
They have a report focusing on Porto’s firm desire to sign Shakhtar Donetsk star Georgiy Sudakov in the summer window and the newspaper claims he could replace Vieira next season.
Porto haven’t secured a purchase option for the Portugal international, and he will return to Arsenal after their Club World Cup campaign. Therefore, the report states it becomes ‘even more of a priority’ to sign Sudakov in the upcoming window.
Vieira’s contract at Arsenal is until 2017 and Record makes no mention whether he’ll be included in Mikel Arteta’s plans.
Last month, A Bola reported Porto would like to extend Vieira’s loan stay, but this would be difficult because Arsenal are aiming for a sale.
