Former Liverpool midfielder Nuri Sahin has spoken to Turkish newspaper Hurriyet about his time at Anfield.
Sahin was used by former manager Brendan Rodgers in a number 10 role, but didn’t enjoy the best of spells at Liverpool. He eventually left the Premier League club after six months to be reunited with Jurgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund.
Sahin was asked by Hurriyet what went wrong during his time Liverpool: “At Liverpool, I started the season very well but once I had an offer from Dortmund in the middle of the season, I just couldn’t resist the prospect of working with Jurgen Klopp again, so I decided to leave.
“If Dortmund dodn’t make an offer for me, then I would have stayed at Liverpool for many more years. But the idea of working again with Jurgen Klopp and competing in the Champions League was very tempting.”
Sahin joined Liverpool on loan from Real Madrid at the start of the 2012/13 season, but failed to make an impact during his time on Merseyside.
The 29 year old played just seven Premier League games for the club, and halfway through that season he joined Borussia Dortmund for his second spell under Klopp.
The attacking midfielder is currently with the Bundesliga giants, but is no longer seen as a regular for the German side.
Maybe, just maybe?
