Last week, we covered a very interesting interview where a Belgian youngster revealed a surprising Manchester United target.

Speaking to Weslo, Wisła Puławy youngster Lukasz Plonowski said one of his friends had received a call from José Mourinho.

This friend was Youri Tielemans, an Anderlecht midfielder who was quoted as saying: “Lukasz, do you know who called me? Mourinho. He asked if how I’d take the possibility to move to Manchester United.”

No need to say that it had a big impact in the British press, but after all this fuss, the 19-year old has denied the call.

“I’ve never had contact with Jose Mourinho. Who says that is lying,” Tielemans told Anderlecht’s official website.

“I have the greatest respect for Mr Mourinho and many other managers, but he never called me. I concentrate on my football career and the important match of tomorrow.”

Tielemans’ contract with Anderlecht runs until 2020, and Transfermarkt values him at €14m. Repeatedly linked with the Premier League, it would be no surprise to see him make the move at some point, although he’d probably be better going somewhere he’d get games.
