Josuha Guilavogui has admitted he is looking for another club after leaving Leeds United in the summer.

The midfielder has been speaking on Le Podcast des Paternelles, relayed by Girondins 4 Ever, about his current situation.

The 35-year-old is currently a free agent after Leeds deciding not to extend his contract in the summer. He had been at Elland Road since 2024, when he arrived on a free transfer after nearly a year without a club.

He made 18 appearances in all competitions for Daniel Farke’s side last season, helpin them to secure promotion. They ended up as champions on goal difference after a neck and neck race with Burnley.

Those 18 appearances only totalled 216 minutes, though. And Leeds decided in the summer to not continue as they rebuilt their squad for life back in the top flight.

Guilavogui has indicated he was disappointed by that decision, speaking positively about his time at Leeds when asked.

At 35-years-old he could easily just walk away from football, but now he insists he’s not quite ready to do that yet.

“My father tells me, ‘I hope there’s still a contract,’ but… I’ll play football, but now the notion of happiness comes first,” he said.

“Can I go to a club that will give me the opportunity to be happy? I love football, of course. Last year, I came off an exceptional year. At Leeds, we’re promoted, we win the league, we’re Champions at the last minute. So you tell yourself that, in the end, maybe the footballer’s little death was my little gift…

“Maybe it was my little passing of the torch: ‘You’ve worked hard, now rest.’ But deep down, there’s still that desire.

“Yes, I continue to train. I tell myself, ‘And if I’m not ready when something happens, I’ll blame myself.’ Last year, I signed for Leeds on October 25th… I’m still on track.”
