As you might recall from last week, Milan are eyeing up a potential deal for Arsenal’s Albert Sambi Lokonga as they look to bolster their midfield.
The Belgian arrived from RSC Anderlecht last summer and looked set to have a decent role under Mikel Arteta at the Emirates, but fell out of favour as the season went on.
This carried on into the current campaign, as the Arsenal midfielder has only featured for a minute, in the opening day win over Crystal Palace.
His lack of game time so far is what could work in Milan’s favour, as Corriere dello Sport, relayed by Milan News, explain the player is ‘in search of accommodation’ (meaning somewhere to get more time on the pitch), since he isn’t getting enough with the Gunners.
Not only that, but he ‘doesn’t enter into Mikel Arteta’s plans’ at Arsenal, meaning a loan could be best for all at this moment in time.
This is something that has been touted in the past, and with no change seemingly on the horizon for Lokonga in London, perhaps a switch to Milan could benefit everyone in the short term.
After all, it worked out for William Saliba…
