Middlesbrough summer signing Viktor Fischer has expressed his disappointment about comments he made about his Danish teammates last night. Denmark lost at home to Montenegro, which led to Fischer being very critical.
Speaking to BT.dk in the aftermath of his controversial comments Fischer said he’s come across with the wrong opinion, and put his outburst down to the disappointment of losing the game to Montenegro. The Middlesbrough star revealed he didn’t mean to express himself in this way, and still believes in the team.
“I’m disappointed, and I’ve come across with the wrong opinion. It was not meant that way, I’m just trying to express my disappointment that I believe so much in this group, and we believe in each other,” said the Middlesbrough forward.
Denmark’s loss last night was their second defeat in a matter of days after they lost to Poland at the weekend. The two defeats leave the Danes with just three points from the first three games, and they now face a difficult task to grab the one automatic qualifying spot.
