Facundo Buonanotte’s potential arrival at Feyenoord is already generating excitement, with old comments from Carlos Tévez being picked up today.
Voetbal Primeur cover the impending transfer today, with editor-in-chief Ruben Winkels bringing back comments from Tévez on the Brighton man.
Reports towards the end of last month first indicated that Feyenoord were looking at a loan deal for Buonanotte this summer, with Brighton seemingly open to letting the youngster move to the Netherlands to get regular first-team football.
That was followed by a claim yesterday that explained Feyenoord were working out the final details with Brighton on the deal, which had already been struck between the two clubs.
All expectations are that the 19-year-old will be on his way to the Netherlands before too long, having struggled to fully establish himself with the Seagulls since his move from Rosario Central in January last year.
He’s managed five goals and two assists in 50 games since then but the arrival of Yankuba Minteh this summer has only pushed him further down the pecking order, giving Feyenoord their chance to get him.
And they’re excited to get him if Winkels latest comments are anything to by as he reminded everyone of the player they’ll be getting.
“That is a very good player,” he said.
“Carlos Tévez was already enthusiastic about him when he broke through at Rosario Central.
“The former striker said: ‘The way he runs and accelerates reminds me of Messi. It has been a long time since I looked at someone who gives me so much pleasure.’”
