AS Monaco’s Bernardo Silva impressed during the week against Tottenham, scoring the opening goal. Monaco and Silva came away from Wembley with all three points, and domestically they’ve had a great start to the season too.

Therefore, interest in Silva has been increasing in recent weeks. The 22 year old missed out on Portugal’s victorious Euro 2016 squad with injury, and has started the season looking like he wants to make up for it.

Silva is represented by Jorge Mendes, and Sport say the agent has told Barcelona, and several clubs from the Premier League, that Jose Mourinho and Manchester United are in the driving seat.

Sport say: ‘Jorge Mendes has warned Barca and several clubs from the Premier League: Bernardo Silva’s future is in the hands of Mourinho.’

There’s no more explanation than that but Sport have found out (or speculated and presented it as fact) that Jose Mourinho has some kind of option to sign Bernardo Silva.
