On Friday, Aston Villa director Monchi confirmed Unai Emery is keen on signing Chelsea’s João Félix in the winter market.
Aston Villa could miss out on the 25-year-old to AC Milan, according to claims from Italy.
The Chelsea player is on the front page of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport with ‘Milan see double’ written in bold.
Milan have made advances to secure an agreement for Feyenoord star Santiago Giménez and are working on signing Félix.
Within the report, it’s claimed Félix’s agent Jorge Mendes is expected to hold talks with the Rossoneri today. The newspaper explains the representative is pushing him to Milan, who are looking to sign him on loan.
The report insists the negotiations between Milan and Chelsea ‘would be much simpler’ for the Portugal international, without providing an explanation.
He can operate across several attacking positions and Gazzetta state: ‘An attacking joker who can restore unpredictability to a department that seems to have lost inspiration and imagination.’
Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims Mendes is already in Italy. This gives Milan a chance to hold talks with him over Félix’s potential transfer.
Calciomercato also cover Milan’s interest in the Chelsea player and their meeting with the agent.
Mendes wants to take his client to the Italian club and Sérgio Conceição is pushing for his arrival. The super-agent is in contact with all parties and will meet Milan ‘today to unblock the negotiation’ for Félix.
Calciomercato don’t mention whether Milan are looking for loan or permanent deal and it’s likely to be the former.
