Sampdoria are being given reason to worry about Mikkel Damsgaard’s future, with interest growing in the 20-year-old.

He arrived at the Genoa club from FC Nordsjælland in February 2020 in a deal which was worth more than €6m. With 18 Serie A appearances so far this season, Damsgaard has become a prominent player with Sampdoria and has contributed two goals and three assists.

Club Doria reports there’s interest coming from the Premier League, with Tottenham and West Ham specifically mentioned.

There’s been some tentative contact from English clubs, and it’s stated that Jose Mourinho’s side had been expected to submit an offer ‘at any moment’, but Tottenham haven’t gone through with that yet.

The reports states there’s been a ‘meeting with West Ham’, with the Hammers initiating contact over a potential deal.

The youngster, who has been playing mainly on the left of midfield, isn’t thought likely to move during the current market so a transfer in the summer is the potential outcome.

Sampdoria don’t want to lose him, and it’s stated they need to ‘be careful’ with their ‘little gem’.
