It appears that Burnley are getting closer to signing Albert Sambi Lokonga, who needs to find a way out from his current club.

The news comes from Sacha Tavolieri, who took to Twitter to reveal that the Clarets held a ‘meeting today’ regarding the midfielder’s signing.

The idea from Burnley was to ‘fix personal terms’ for the Belgium International, who spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace without much success.

In what is good news for the Turf Moor residents, the journalist adds that a deal is ‘getting closer’ to be completed, but it’s not done just yet.

The ‘last details’ still need to be agreed upon before the Belgian can team up with Vincent Kompany, who clearly has a plan to use him far more than his current manager.

Since arriving in the Premier League from Anderlecht, the 23-year-old has managed 34 appearances in the competition for two different clubs, with only 20 of those being starts.

Now, he could get a chance to equal or surpass that in one season if Burnley give him the game time he wants and he stays fit.
