Two days ago, Milliyet reported the deal to take Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech to Galatasaray was very close to being completed.
It was followed up with a report from Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, who explained that the 30-year-old had undergone a detailed medical test with the Istanbul club. Both these claims about the Chelsea player are confirmed by Galatasaray vice-president Erden Timur.
Timur spoke to reporters on Thursday evening on the club’s transfer business, including the impending arrival of the attacking midfielder. His quotes are relayed by TRT Spor.
“Medical tests are almost over. We did a very detailed check. A certain point has been reached in the transfer. So far, there has been no problem with a medical,” he said about Ziyech.
The Moroccan came close to joining Al-Nassr earlier in the window, but the deal reportedly collapsed after he failed to clear his medical. It was his second failed transfer of the year after his move to Paris Saint-Germain collapsed in January.
Galatasaray have swooped in for him now but rumours indicated the former Ajax man had failed his medical again. Timur’s latest comments should definitely put these reports to bed and also soon end his three-year spell at Chelsea.
