Negotiations between Al-Ittihad and Aston Villa over Moussa Diaby are ‘progressing positively’ after the forward gave his approval to the transfer.
That’s according to journalist Gianluigi Longari, who reports that the ‘distance between supply and demand’ has now narrowed and there is a deal there to be done.
Reports earlier today claimed that Al-Ittihad had stepped up their interest in Diaby this summer after showing an interest in him earlier this month.
Two bids were already said to have been made and Foot Mercato then reported that, according to their information, the Saudi Arabian side had submitted a €55m bid. They also added that Diaby was interested in the move and so the opportunity had been opened because of that.
Longari now follows that up and reports that talks between Al-Ittihad and Aston Villa are progressing positively as the distance between what the former are willing to pay, and what the latter are asking for has now ‘narrowed’.
He reports that Diaby already gave his approval to the transfer a few days ago, hence the sudden push on the matter.
This is backed up by fellow journalist Rudy Galetti, who reports that Al-Ittihad are even so confident of the deal taking place they’ve booked a medical for him in anticipation of an agreement being struck soon.
Indeed, their plan is to complete the signing of the forward by Thursday so that he can then join their training camp on Friday.
It seems they’re very confident a deal will be agreed rapidly, and Diaby will be leaving Aston Villa poste haste.
