Returning to Atalanta from a loan spell at Cesena last season, Franck Kessié has started the season on a very impressive note considering he’s a defensive midfielder.
Why? Because the 19-year-old has somehow managed to score five goals in his first four games back at the club.
Despite this, the Serie A side have only won one of their three league games, but the Ivory Coast international has certainly caught the attention of a few with his performances.
Speaking to Sky Sport in Italy, relayed by TuttoMercatoWeb, the player revealed who he bases his style of play on, as well as his dream transfer.
He said: “I have two football role models: Yaya Touré and Michael Essien. I take a bit from both. Essien runs a lot and Yaya is a bit more attacking. They told me I needed to work harder to reach higher levels.
“I really like the English league, but for now I have to learn the Italian tactics, and then maybe one day I can go to Manchester United. I don’t know if Mourinho will still be there, but it’s a team I’ve always liked.”
The youngster certainly has time on his side to realise this goal of his, and if he carries on with his current performances, it probably won’t be long before an English club comes snooping around again.
After all, Sunderland nearly signed him over the summer.
