PSV Eindhoven star Xavi Simons could be eyeing up a move to Arsenal, with his agent enjoying good contacts with Mikel Arteta’s side.
That’s according to journalist Aad de Mos, who believes the 20-year-old may be keen on a big move this summer after an impressive season in the Netherlands.
Simons has been one of the stars for PSV under Ruud van Nistelrooy this season, bagging 16 goals and nine assists in 32 games in the league.
It’s been an impressive year for him so far after he made the bold decision to leave PSG for PSV on a free transfer in July last year.
He now appears to be demonstrating that he is ready to step up and become the player many believe he can be, with him having been marked out for a bright future since emerging as a youngster at Barcelona.
His performances this season certainly will not have gone unnoticed by some of the biggest clubs, and De Mos has thrown Arsenal into the mix as a potential option.
“His change of manager indicates that he is searching,” he told Eindhovens Dagblad, relayed by Voetbal Zone.
“Maybe he is thinking about Arsenal. His new agents have a lot of contacts there. I hope Earnest Stewart (PSV’s technical director) can manage to keep Simons here in Eindhoven.
“That should be priority number one for PSV and so steps need to be taken quickly.”
