Chelsea are just about to miss out on the transfer of Gabriel Moscardo from Corinthians.
As today reported by Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, Paris Saint Germain are on the verge of a ‘total agreement’ for his signing, and should get the move done for €22m plus €3m in bonuses.
Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte also claims that the transfer is close. Having linked Chelsea previously, they bring quotes from Corinthians president Augusto Melo telling Radio Bandeirantes that the midfielder is about to say goodbye.
“He’s a player with very little time in the professional ranks, I’d like him to stay a lot longer, I always said in the campaign that homegrown players would be our third income,” said Augusto Melo.
“But unfortunately the cycle has arrived, his head is out too, we’ve given him the freedom to choose, may he be happy. That’s what’s happening.”
Moscardo is currently on vacation, and coincidentally, had been in Paris with his girlfriend in the past few days.
Chelsea had been heavily linked to the midfielder since the summer, when they reportedly made a first attempt for the signing, and stories then claimed that the Blues would now offer over €25m for a potential January transfer.
It seems they never managed to do so, though, as the Brazilian media now speaks of PSG’s chase as if they didn’t have such strong competition from the English club.
