The Portuguese media continues to sound very confident that Leicester City will buy Issahaku Fatawu from Sporting at the end of the season.

Newspaper Record today shares a story explaining that the 20-year-old is, by far, the Lions’ loanee who’s having the biggest success so far.

Fatawu has four goals and ten assists for Leicester City, taking part in 34 appearances, and those numbers are what could convince the Foxes to make the permanent signing.

That’s because there’s a clause saying the English club need to buy him for €17m in case they either get promoted to the Premier League or he reaches a certain number of appearances this season.

Leicester City’s place in the top flight isn’t guaranteed yet, but it seems his games are getting close to the necessary number, even though that’s not detailed by Record.

The newspaper also points out that Sporting are not getting all of the money.

They only paid €1.2m to sign him from Steadfast, who have the right to get 50% of their profit, meaning Sporting CP would get to keep just over €8m of any transfer fee.
