With another summer transfer window right around the corner, we can’t avoid seeing Chelsea players once again being heavily linked with a move to Italy.
Full-backs Emerson Palmieri and Marcos Alonso are always said to be close to a return to Serie A, and the stories tend to be fuelled by the local media.
Website TuttoMercatoWeb today features an interview with Alessandro Belluzzo, who’s managing partner of Belluzzo International Partners and President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the UK.
They describe him as the man who can give the ‘most reliable opinion’ on financial issues and big signings in Italian footballer, and besides the many topics touched upon in the interview, there was a question about ‘the next big arrival’ in Serie A he’d bet on.
“It is very likely that Emerson Palmieri or Marcos Alonso of Chelsea will arrive in Italy,” Belluzzo told Tutto Mercato Web.
“But it’s very likely that other important players on a free transfer can come to Italy or others on loan.”
Emerson Palmieri and Marcos Alonso have 15 appearances each this season, with both left-backs spending most of their time on the bench ever since Ben Chilwell became the Blues’ favourite player for the role.
