Following all the coverage of Leeds United’s Championship title, it’s now time for the Argentine press to follow Marcelo Bielsa’s preparation for the Premier League.
TyC Sports show Presión Alta came up with a report saying the manager would like to build an ‘Argentine national team’ at the Whites, and brought five players he’d like to sign.
The first one is Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth, who’s labelled as ‘one of Bielsa’s favourites’ to join Leeds this summer.
Then comes Lucas Martinez Quarta, a River Plate defender who’s been attracting the manager’s attention for a while, as confirmed by Sport Witness this month.
Stuttgart striker Nicolás González is also called ‘one of Bielsa’s favourites’, and is reportedly the third name on the list.
TyC also reports Marcelo Bielsa’s interest in the Racing youngster Thiago Almada, who’s been linked to the likes of Manchester City earlier this season.
And finally, the fifth name on the list is said to be the one of Sergio Romero, who’s expected to leave Manchester United this summer.
It’s fair to say these are all names who a Premier League club could be interested in, so we can’t rule out any of these possible signings.
However, we pretty much doubt that Marcelo Bielsa already has a list of signings done for the next season, especially with so many Argentines involved.
He didn’t get that many compatriots in his two summers as a Leeds United manager, so it would be weird to see him doing it now, and doing so on such a big scale.
