It would appear Manuel Garcia Quilon is trying to find a solution for the future of his client Jose Callejon.

With the Napoli player’s contract expiring this summer, and no renewal in immediate sight, it makes sense to see which clubs are interested. AreaNapoili report there’s been contacts with Aston Villa, which would make sense as Quilon has players there already.

Everton have also been contacted, yet the whole thing sounds very unlikely indeed. Marcel Brands ‘like other profiles’, according to the report, meaning the Toffees transfer chief has likely said a polite ‘thanks, but no thanks’, and dismissed the idea of signing the former Real Madrid player.

Such a scenario sounds fortunate for Everton, the whole point of having Brands is so that the club won’t be drawn into short-term gambles like signing 33 year old Callejon, and would prefer to source their own targets rather than waiting for agents to offer players.

Quilon perhaps thought it was worth a try, given half the Napoli team have been linked with Everton.
