Wolves announced on Monday that they’ll be making Diogo Jota’s stay at the club permanent, with the 21 year old having a successful loan period in the Championship.
Over in Spain, Marca claim to have the figures of the deal.
It’s explained that as well as announcing things publicly, Wolves have also contacted Jota’s parent club Atletico Madrid and informed them the player will be staying in England.
Marca state the purchase clause in Jota’s Wolves contract is €14m, but Atletico won’t be getting all of that. Whilst Wolves will be parting with the full amount, 20% of it goes to Jota’s previous club Pacos de Ferreira, leaving Atletico with €11.2m.
Jota was on loan at Porto last season and the Portuguese club decided not to use their buying clause, largely because it was €22m.
Several figures had been thrown around for Jota’s clause, ranging from €8m to €22m, but Marca reckon it’s €14m and they say that’s what Wolves will be paying.
