Spanish newspaper Marca on Tuesday claim that Aymen Abdennour, along with defensive teammate Mustafi, is on the ‘exit ramp’ at Valencia and getting close to leaving the club.
Abdennour’s supposed destination is of course Everton, after earlier claims that Peter Lim, Valencia’s owner, had flown to England to finalise the deal.
That was at the end of last week, and things appeared to stall over the weekend, but there’s now an expectation in Spain that a deal is on the way.
That may be largely because Valencia are keen to sell, and it remains to be seen just how keen Everton are to get a deal over the line.
We’ve searched around the Valencia media and can find no concrete reasoning to back up a huge jump forward on the deal, other than everyone assuming it must be done soon.
