Chelsea are reportedly closing in on signing Alvaro Morata. According to Marca, the Blues have intensified their moves and a deal between them and Real Madrid could be reached soon.
The newspaper says Antonio Conte has played a key role in the negotiations, since he was also the one who convinced Morata to join Juventus two years ago, although they didn’t work together as the manager then took charge of the Italian national team.
Real Madrid have reportedly set a €75m (£64m) price for the 23-year-old, after the Spanish side only recently bought him back from Juventus for only €30m due to a contract clause.
The striker is expected to go through the pre-season with the Madrid squad, but a departure is the most likely option for him.
Marca says that Arsenal and Manchester United have also shown their interest in Morata, who finished the last season with 12 goals and 12 assists for Juve.
