Spanish newspaper Marca are reporting on Wednesday afternoon that Chelsea and Real Madrid have reached an agreement for the transfer of Alvaro Morata.
It’s explained that a deal has been agreed in the region of €80m, which has been enough to please Real Madrid. Morata is being allowed to leave despite the club having a role for him, the Spanish international wants more prominence and feels he’ll get it elsewhere.
Marca report Morata will now leave Real Madrid’s Los Angeles training base, and travel to London, it’s even stated he could be at Stamford Bridge in the ‘coming hours’.
The contracts haven’t yet been signed, but the Spanish newspaper believe everything on the deal has been agreed, and there’s no suggestion that personal terms could be a barrier for Chelsea.
This is a significant development, Marca never had this kind of announcement during the Alvaro Morata to Manchester United saga.
