Marca report they’re ‘able to confirm’ earlier claims from La Voz de Galicia that Manchester City are signing Angeliño from PSV.

The Premier League champions are doing so thanks to a buy-back clause they inserted when selling the fullback to PSV last year. After an impressive season with the Eredivisie club, City will be paying double what they sold the player for.

It’s been pointed out several times in the Netherlands that PSV wouldn’t have been able to get Angeliño so cheaply without that clause being in the contract, so they always knew this scenario was a possibility.

After La Voz de Galicia published their article this morning, De Telegraaf reported ‘sources around the English club’ had confirmed the plan.

However, Eindhoven Dagblad sounded like they wanted to rebel against the claims, and called them ‘speculative’.

It’s been claimed PSG offered €25m for the player, but PSV weren’t able to accept the bid because of the clause. Therefore, there was a suspicion Manchester City could be signing Angeliño to make a quick profit, but Marca say the plan is to keep him at the club next season.
