ESPN Brasil today released the full video of a recent interview they made with Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison.

Last week, the channel had a word with the forward, who when commenting on Four Four Two’s most recent list of the best footballers ever, claimed they do ‘not know football’.

Now as the full interview is released, there are a few more bits of Richarlison talking about his arrival at Tottenham, telling journalist João Castelo-Branco about what that summer move meant for his career.

He also addressed to those who criticised the transfer, thinking he’d be on the bench at Spurs.

“I think I took it one step further,” Richarlison told ESPN Brasil.

“I evolved in my career, I think that’s what I needed, to compete in big competitions, to be competing at the top of the table. So I came to a great club, I took a leap in my career and it was also very important for my evolution. I have a great team here, a great coach. So I have everything to evolve. And that’s what I’ve been doing in games. Many didn’t believe it, they thought I was going to come to be in Kane’s shadow and I’m there, little by little conquering my space, playing in practically every game. So I think the important thing is that I’m focused, I’m good and I’m playing.”

The Brazilian was also asked about having a bigger help at Tottenham than he used to at Everton, since the likes of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son are big stars who can make the difference.

“I think it’s good, isn’t it? I think the responsibility is not just me. I think everyone here has responsibilities. So I think that makes it easier for us too, during games. And they are great players. They can decide the match at any time and that makes it easier for us in attack. So I think playing alongside them is really good. I think Conte is enjoying it a lot too and we are improving during the matches as well.”

Since the interview was obviously made before Richarlison’s injury, there are no quotes about his physical state.

However, as already reported and officially confirmed by Spurs, the forward should be back to action in a few weeks, having no risk of missing the World Cup this year.
