As the Benfica youngster João Félix continues to impress in every single display for the Eagles, it looks like the race for him is getting a lot hotter.
That’s because according to the Italian press today, agent Jorge Mendes is holding a series of meetings with clubs who are interested in the 19-year-old.
Sky Sport 24 (via Tutto Mercato Web) claims that the super agent met Manchester City and Manchester United on Tuesday, and is now set to speak to Juventus in person as well.
Manchester United have been the club most linked recently, but it’s no surprise to see their neighbours in the mix.
The report doesn’t say much about the next moves these clubs will make. Felix is currently protected by Benfica with a €120m release clause, and it won’t be easy to sign him in the summer.
On Monday, João Félix had an impressive performance in Benfica’s 4-0 win over Chaves. According to the list of scouts released by the Portuguese press, both Juventus and Manchester United had emissaries watching the game.
