Amid all the turmoil caused by Cristiano Ronaldo’s comments about Manchester United in an interview with Piers Morgan, the player continues to ready himself for the World Cup.
The player returned to Old Trafford last season, when he was convinced to ignore the lure of Manchester City to go back to his former club, and all seemed well at first.
However, a bad season under first Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and then Ralf Rangnick led to the appointment of Erik ten Hag, who doesn’t appear to be the player’s biggest fan.
The Dutchman has moved away from using the Portuguese often, leaving him on the Manchester United bench for the most part, and this didn’t best please the superstar.
Then came the interview with Morgan, which has affected everyone at the Red Devils and allegedly infuriated his manager.
Meanwhile, the Manchester United star is with the Portugal squad, seen in training on Tuesday trying to interact as best he could with his teammates, but that won’t be happening today.
O Jogo, relying the Portuguese FA, report that he will ‘not participate in the preparation due to a stomach indisposition’.
How badly the player is affected remains to be seen…
