Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay is ‘the new name’ on Roma’s list of possible targets as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his midfield this summer.
That’s according to Corriere della Sera, who say the Italian side are ‘monitoring the midfielders’ this summer and the Manchester United man is one of them.
They explain that with Davide Frattesi on his way to Inter Milan, Roma are set to pocket 30% of the transfer fee thanks to a sell on clause they still hold on to the player.
That could help them in their quest to strengthen the midfield, which is where the Manchester United midfielder would come in.
He is currently valued at €30m by the Old Trafford residents and earns €4.6m a year, meaning that with at least two years left on his contract, they are unlikely to want to give any discounts when it comes to a sale.
The interest in McTominay is there, though, as Mourinho plans for next season and looks to reinvest some welcome additional funds back into his squad, potentially on a player he knows well from their time together at Manchester United.
