Manchester United youngster Facundo Pellistri is ‘high on’ FC Twente’s list of transfer targets this summer, and Erik ten Hag would like him to go there.
That’s according to Twente Insite, who cover the player today amid reports that they are trying to do a loan deal for him.
They reports that Pellistri is ‘one of the names that is high on’ Technical Director Arnold Bruggink’s list of options in this window.
He’s still looking for a replacement for Vaclav Cerny who has moved to Wolfsburg and Pellistri is seen as a viable option, having been offered by Ten Hag.
The Manchester United manager reportedly ‘approached’ Bruggink to make it clear that Pellistri was available, having decided the youngster would be best spending this season on loan away from Old Trafford.
The Dutchman sees his former club as an ideal location for him and, if the decision were up to him, that is where he would be going as there is a good chance of regular playing time now that Cerny has departed.
However, the decision is not Ten Hag’s to make but the player’s and he has other options, including Bologna, Real Betis and Gremio among others.
Thus, he has yet to decide his future and has instead travelled for pre-season in America with Manchester United, where he recently featured in the clash with Arsenal.
He admitted after that game that they were looking into where he could move this summer, although it seems if Ten Hag was making the decision that the deal would already be done.
