Manchester United willing to get rid of player ‘almost free of charge’ – Now ready to ‘facilitate departure’

Real Betis have shown an interest in Manchester United defender Eric Bailly, with the Reds willing to let him go ‘almost free of charge’.

That’s according to ABC Sevilla, who say United are ready to ‘facilitate the departure’ of the Ivorian after his unsuccessful loan spell at Marseille.

They explain that Betis have ‘sounded out’ the situation of the central defender who has returned to Manchester United after his spell in France came to an end.

Those in charge at Betis are ‘keen on’ the player and have ‘positioned’ themselves to try and make a deal happen as they want to reinforce a defence which has been left thin.

They consider the player a ‘market opportunity’ given he only has a year left on his deal at Manchester United and they are keen to ‘facilitate his departure’ and get him off of the books if they can.

Indeed, they would be willing to let him go at ‘almost no cost’ if they can find a club willing to take him on as manager Erik ten Hag has declared him ‘transferable’.

Betis sporting director Ramon Planes knows Bailly well as he had him in his ranks at Espanyol, where he shone and eventually ended up at Villarreal.

Hence his efforts at ‘sounding out’ the player and Manchester United over a possible deal this summer, with a deal very much there to be done if the two sides can sit down and work things out.
