Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee has been repeatedly linked with a move to Serie A in the winter market.

Last week, the forward was booed by a section of Manchester United fans when he was subbed off at home against Newcastle United.

Since then, the exit links have increased and Corriere dello Sport provide their take on the 23-year-old’s situation at Manchester United.

Juventus have identified Zirkzee as the main target to improve their attack as he knows Thiago Motta well from Bologna.

Zirkzee was reluctant to leave Manchester United in November, but the report states there has been an ‘important opening’ in recent days, indicating that he’s now open to a move.

The newspaper claims the Netherlands international’s relationship with Ruben Amorim is at an all-time low and therefore the Red Devils are open to letting him leave. The Italian club are aiming to take him on loan, but this doesn’t please the Premier League side.

Corriere state Manchester United ‘want to sell the player permanently’ while the Old Lady could take him on loan by inserting a conditional purchase obligation. Therefore, Juve want to wait and see if the situation changes in the coming days or weeks.

On Sunday, Zirkzee came off the bench late in the game in Manchester United’s 2-2 draw against Liverpool at Anfield. As he did, his name was chanted loud and clear by the away fans.

Amorim claims he wants to retain the Dutchman but also states “the window is open and we will see what happens.”

Corriere may have taken the manager’s comments into account to make an assumption that Manchester United want to sell Zirkzee in January.
