In the past couple of weeks, we’ve seen Manchester United fullback Alex Telles getting linked to his former club Porto.
It turns there may be actually another club trying to bring him back to Portugal, and that’s the Dragons’ rivals Benfica.
The report comes from Torcedores, and claims there’s ‘confidence’ from the Eagles regarding the signing.
The big problem is that Benfica want Telles signed on a loan deal with no buying option, and since his contract with Manchester United expires at the end of the season, they could then try to snatch him for free.
The Red Devils know about that risk, and that’s why they want him to be gone ‘permanently’, meaning Benfica are finding it ‘difficult to negotiate’ with the Premier League side.
Manchester United spent €15m to sign Telles from Porto in 2020, and a sale now could be their last chance to recover part of the money.
The fullback spent the last season on loan at Sevilla, but there haven’t been many rumours about a potential permanent stay at the La Liga club, meaning he will return to Old Trafford and need to find himself a new club.
