Galatasaray do not appear to be giving up on their ambitious dream of signing Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United this summer.

That’s if the latest from Haber Sarikirmizi is anything to go by anyway. They relay comments from Süleyman Rodop of Ajans1905, who has provided the financial details of Galatasaray’s transfer plans today.

Manchester United want €50m

According to his information, Galatasaray have made signing a number ten a priority this summer.

Bruno Fernandes is at the top of their list. And according to Rodop, the finances of a potential deal have already been laid out.

“Galatasaray are in talks with young players for the wing position, but I expect this transfer to be finalised once the number 10 and striker positions have been sorted out,” he said.

“The asking price for Bruno Fernandes is €50m, and negotiations will take place around that figure. However, Fernandes’s annual salary expectations are €20m clear.”

Growing interest

Sport Witness have covered Galatasaray’s interest in doing a deal for the 31-year-old this summer since April.

An initial report that month explained that Galatasaray had put the Manchester United star on their agenda for the summer transfer window.

By June, the idea was building once again. Although there was one major problem for the Turkish side to overcome; Fernandes is not particularly keen on the switch.

Then came comments from Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk. He was asked about the prospect of signing the Manchester United star and made it clear it was an idea he would absolutely endorse.

The question is whether Manchester United would sanction a sale this summer. Bruno Fernandes is currently rated at €25m, so it seems they’re asking for double. But would that deal be worth it given what they’d have to spend to replace him?

And then there’s the question of whether Galatasaray would spend such a figure anyway. It would be their second most expensive transfer of all time, making it feel unlikely. But the figures are now set, so the onus is on them.
