On Sunday, claims from the UK stated Manchester United are working to sign Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee after agreeing personal terms and agent fee.
Over the past several weeks, the Italian media have said Zirkzee’s agent Kia Joorabchian wants €15m in commission.
Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio points that out and adds that Manchester United are willing to meet the €15m commission requested by the agent.
The Netherlands international is the player ‘strongly desired’ by Erik ten Hag, and the Red Devils have taken further steps to secure his services this summer.
According to Di Marzio, the Premier League side have ‘formally notified’ Bologna that they will pay the player’s €40m release clause. This brings him closer to Manchester United.
Di Marzio’s claim is backed up by Sport Mediaset, and their title says Manchester United are ‘very close to concluding’ a deal for the Dutchman.
Within the report, they state the English club have ‘officially informed’ Bologna of wanting to activate Zirkzee’s clause. The report adds he’s ‘one step away’ from making a switch to Old Trafford.
The frontman is currently with the Netherlands in Germany, where they will face England in the Euros later this week.
His move to Manchester United is expected to be finalised after the tournament.
