Anthony Elanga’s late goal at the Wanda Metropolitano saw Manchester United secure a 1-1 draw against Atlético Madrid last month.
The return leg of the Champions League tie is scheduled to take place at Old Trafford later today. The visitors will be without Yannick Carrasco, who is suspended, while Daniel Wass, Šime Vrsaljko, Matheus Cunha and Thomas Lemar are ruled out due to injuries.
José Giménez, Geoffrey Kondogbia and Mario Hermoso, who were doubtful for the clash, have travelled to Manchester and were seen training with other teammates at Old Trafford on Monday.
With these three players in contention to start against the Red Devils, we take a look at Los Rojiblancos’ predicted lineup from today’s Spanish papers.
AS have predicted Diego Simone to deploy a 3-5-2 formation, with Jan Oblak in between the sticks. They have gone with Stefan Savić, Felipe and Reinildo Mandava at the back, with Renan Lodi and Marcos Llorente as left and right wing-backs respectively.
In the middle, AS have predicted Héctor Herrera and Rodrigo De Paul, along with one of Koke or Kondogbia, and João Félix and Antoine Griezmann leading the attack.
Sport have gone with the exact same lineup and formation as AS, with them backing the Argentine coach to start Koke instead of Kondogbia.
Mundo Deportivo have predicted Atlético to go with a 3-5-2 formation. The only change they have made when compared to AS and Sport is that they have gone with Giménez to start in place of Felipe.
Over at Marca, their probable lineup comes in a 4-4-2 formation. They have moved Reinildo to the left-back position and Llorente to the right side of the back four, with Savić and Giménez in the heart of the defence.
Lodi is moved forward to the left wing and De Paul on the right wing. Herrera and Kondogbia are expected to play in the middle of the pitch.
Like the other Spanish papers, Marca have gone with Félix and Griezmann to lead the La Liga winners’ attack against Manchester United on Tuesday night.
