Valencia are interested in signing Argentine defender Marco Rojo, reports El Desmarque in Spain. The Spanish side are looking to sign a defender after the departure of Skhodran Mustafi to Arsenal, and want to sign the Manchester United defender.
It’s claimed Valencia have already started negotiations with Manchester United over the possibility of signing Rojo. El Desmarque say Rojo would also be open to a move to Valencia, and could sign for them on loan with the open to buy.
The Argentine defender hasn’t featured for a single minute in the Premier League this season, but it remains to be seen if Jose Moruinho wants to part ways with him.
Manchester United have Europa League games coming up, and Mourinho could use Rojo in those games. The manager suggested as much after the Saturday victory against Hull City.
The 26-year-old has another three years left on his contract, and it remains to be seen if Valencia can tempt Manchester United with a good offer.
From Rojo’s perspective, Portuguese newspaper O Jogo reported last week that he wants to stay. When there were rumours about an exit last summer, a source close to the player informed Sport Witness that Rojo had no intention of leaving.
